San Guido Bolgheri Sassicaia Estate it is an absolute excellence, the only wine in Italy to have earned one DOC specific for identification: Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC.
This wine from character enveloping, intense and exciting, it is a real one legend of enology.
It is the best known in the world as it perfectly embodies the balance in terms of body e complexity.
It is produced within the San Guido estate, which with its rugged and unique terrain, with limestone formations and a high stony content (from which it takes the name of "sassicaia") created the perfect conditions for this oenological treasure to germinate.

The name of the estate where the San Guido Bolgheri Sassica Estate derived from San Guido della Gherardesca, who lived in the XNUMXth century. It is a historic winery in the area of Bolgheri, which is located along the Etruscan coast, in the Maremma.
The idea of placing vines in this area originates from Mario Incisa della Ricchetta who, fascinated by the Bordeaux , in 1920 he dreams of creating his own purebred wine. This red from the cutting Bordeaux is made with grapes of Cabernet Sauvignon 85% and of Cabernet Franc al 15%.
The harvest of Sassicaia takes place in August and the winemaking takes place in steel at a controlled temperature with about two weeks of maceration on the skins. Following various pumping over and delestages, the wine is then aged in oak barrels for 2 years before being left in the bottle for 6 months. Shimmering ruby mantle. A spectacle of odorous sensations that gradually stand out on the nose. Capture with aromas of crunchy red fruit that twirl between notes of currant and cassis, cherry and traits of peach, ethereal and fluttering sensations of vetiver and damask rose, licorice, a pulsating blanket of fine and sweet spices, Mediterranean scrub, mentholated tobacco and a mineral thread. The mouthfeel is direct, truthful and dynamic, very balanced, with three-dimensional silk tannin and freshness that crosses the taste, zigzagging like a lightning bolt. A resounding persistence, one catches and feels like a crowd in a theater applauding the most beautiful of performances.
