The Seggio is the largest watercourse in the Municipality of Castagneto Carducci. It comes from the metalliferous hills of Sassetta, an area already known at the time of the Etruscans, extremely rich in the subsoil of iron ore deposits. It crosses the entire Bolgheri territory and its alluvial debris enriches the characteristic clayey soils with precious pebbles, thus guaranteeing excellent soil drainage. Intense ruby ​​red.
