Evaluating the best wines obtained from biodynamic agriculture, we can affirm that the Austrian philosopher and theologian Rudolf Steiner had not lost his mind when in the cycle of conferences held in 1924 in Koberwitz and Dornach, he had indicated how in agriculture one could draw strength from the spirit completely unknown, and thus make possible the physical continuation of human life on earth. This lesson was brought home by the talented Tuscan winemaker Luca D'Attoma who, together with his wife Elena Celli, acquired an estate with a high wine vocation in Riparbella, in the Montescudaio Doc area, between Pisa and Livorno. The vines are nourished by extreme soils with over 40% clay and skeleton, with a quantity of limestone coming from nearby chalk deposits which makes the composition of the soil very rich in sodium. This last characteristic represents a brake on the natural exuberance of the plant, however vigorously nourished through biodynamic agriculture. All the wines presented are confirmed at very high levels of quality and pleasantness, with the sharpness of the Cabernet Franc that bears the company name, a complex and elegant red.
