The foundation of the company dates back to 1985, when, with the extinction of the Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona family, the estate, of ancient origins, was bequeathed to the factor Giuseppe Bianchini. Since 2004 at the helm of the company there have been Paolo and Lucia Bianchini, assisted by Alex and Ester, sons of Paolo, who married with great passion and love the philosophy and work of producer and winemaker transmitted by his father Giuseppe. Paolo, a great cycling enthusiast, was also responsible for the foundation of the corporate amateur sports association “ASD Brunello Bike”, which combines cycling with charity. La Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona, located in the south-east area of Montalcino, near the medieval village of Castelnuovo dell'Abate and the famous abbey of Sant'Antimo, covers 220 hectares, 55 of which are planted with vineyards and 40 olive grove, on a land rich in marl, surrounded by gentle hills and woods, in a unique landscape, bordered in the background by the profile of Monte Amiata. For the most prestigious labels, such as the superb Brunello Vigna di Pianrosso 2013, a Sangiovese Grosso clone selected from the old vines is used, particularly representative and capable of expressing character and quality even in difficult years.
