Fabrizio Bianchi and his daughter Laura are the lucky owners of this model cellar in Barberino Val d'Elsa. In 1962, after receiving the estate as a gift from his father, Fabrizio made an epochal turning point in the area and was the first to make a single vineyard Chianti, Il Poggio; he then decides to eliminate the white berried grapes from the assembly, ignoring the traditional dictates of the disciplinary, and is among the first to abandon the practice of winemaking through the Government of Tuscany. In its precursor idea, Sangiovese deserves all possible attention, it must be vinified alone and following a more modern enology. Today, almost sixty years after the first harvest, Il Poggio boasts the mention of Gran Riserva and demonstrates with its innate class that it is able to contrast, with an excellently successful version, the difficult climatic trend of the 2014 vintage. from the Chianti vintage, a wine of disarming complexity.
